Weekly Devotional-The Forest

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

This week in tot school your kiddo will be learning all about the forest.  Our memory verse for this week is from Psalm 50:10.

“For every beast in the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”

Materials:

  • A large tote bag or brown paper bag

Directions:

  • Allow your tot to walk around and put some of their favorite things in their bag.
  • Talk about the devotion with your tot.

Talk with your child about the following:

Take a look at what you have in your bag.  Lets look at all the things you put in there.  All of the things in this bag belong to you, don’t they?  It’s nice to have these things.  We can play with them, or watch them, or even listen to them.  Do you know who gave these things to you?  While all of these things were given to you by mommy, or daddy all of things we have really come from God.  You see, everything in the whole wide world belongs to God.  We’ve been learning this week about the forest, and the things that live there.  All of those things, even the animals, belong to God.  He takes care of them, just like He takes care of us.  All of the things we have God gave to us.  God asks us to take care of the things we have because this shows God that we are thankful for the gifts He has given us.  We also know that since everything belongs to God, including us, we don’t have to worry about things.  Everything we need, and some of the things we want, we get from God.  Today, lets thank God for the things that we have.

Questions to ask:

  • What belongs to God? Everything
  • Does God give us everything we need? Yes

Additional Resources:

  • You may want to go over last weeks questions with your tot.
  • Mommy Devotional on the memory verse.
