The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer…

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

is to walk around in Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes! And that is just what me and 100 or so others did Thursday in OCC’s Shoe Box Blitz.

(In a reader? Don’t miss out on the video, head over to the post.)

Our goal was to spread the word about Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week, which is November 14th-21st.

Ads_OCC_250x250I ventured out with Jessica from Clip with a Purpose and Molly. Check out where we visited.

This year Operation Christmas Child’s goal is to reach out to 8.5 million needy kids.  You can help spread the Christmas Cheer by packing your very own shoe box.  Here’s a few links to get you started:

Have you ever packed a shoe box?  What were your favorite items to include?

A Mommy Talks Disclosure:  I won a trip to NYC to help promote Operation Christmas Child, as a member of their blogger panel. OCC did cover all my expenses to participate in the trip, but ALL opinions expressed are my own and I am honored to endorse this cause.

I organized OCC for our church last year and we had a box packing party at our house.  I think we did around 35 boxes.  It was great to see the variety of things people donated–flip flops, t-shirts, toys, games, flashlights, etc…and packing at a party was great.  We all had a lot of fun.

Its amazing how much you can stuff in one little shoe box!  We had a packing party while in NYC and they had a lot of great options!  A few I remember are: tennis balls, little watches, sunglasses, hair brushes, wash cloths…and so many more.  Are you packing one this year?

Unfortunately, we are not since drop off begins this week.  Our church is again, but I have been slightly busy and not feeling like going out shopping.  I know I should have planned and gotten my things this summer, but time slipped away from me.  I have begun a small stash for next year already, though.
