Free Thanksgiving Timeline

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

I love reading about history and teaching it to my children. Thanksgiving is a great time to learn about America’s earliest days. Books such as The Very First Thanksgiving is a great way to introduce young readers to what life was like for the Pilgrims and the Native American’s they met. To help your kiddo understand the events of the first Thanksgiving I’ve put together an illustrated Thanksgiving timeline.

Organizing the events in a timeline is a great way to learn about historical events, but it is also effective in teaching reading skills. By putting the events in chronological order you’ll help your child practice retelling a story which helps develop reading comprehension.

Free Thanksgiving Timeline is a great addition to any Thanksgiving read aloud.

This Thanksgiving timeline is one you can print off and work together after you read through a storybook about the Pilgrims.  Just put the pictures in order of the events as they happened, or you could glue them to a sheet of construction paper.
