Chpt 9 Educating the WholeHearted Child

This was a really short chapter and quick read. Although, my family has many years before we have a youth, I found this chapter eye opening. It is definitely a chapter that I will need to read again when my child becomes a teen. I really loved the focus on helping your child find their […]

This is a chapter that I’ve dogged-eared. It is full of great ways to cultivate a learning environment, has suggestions on building a home library full of great books, ways to evaluate curriculum and more.  This chapter has me thinking about so many areas that I don’t really know how to formulate all my thoughts, […]

Being in the first year of homeschooling, I really appreciated the break down of the “Schools of Homeschooling” at the beginning of the chapter.  I was aware of a few of these areas, but hadn’t really dug in to learn more about where our family might fit.  I didn’t think it was a huge issue, […]

This chapter was full of ideas and suggestions for “strengthening your kiddo’s mind to learn for God.”  As a former certified educator, I loved the “new to me” view on learning.  This book has definitely kept me thinking twice about the how and why of educating my kids. The main chucks of this chapter were […]

Like the first chapter, this one convicted me several times. Some of the convictions lead to a feeling of inadequacy, but as I kept reading I came across this, “God will take WHAT YOU HAVE to give and multiply it“ (pg 55). Praise God! No matter where you are in your walk, GOD CAN USE […]

This chapter was full of suggestions to help you be more confident in your decision to homeschool.  It provides several ways you can respond to 5 questions that you’re bound to be asked.   For me the section on answering the legislation question was the most helpful. I am aware of my state requirements, but […]

This first chapter was a·maz·ing! It definitely left me with so much to think about!! I highlighted quite a bit, but one thing that really made me stop and evaluate was the following:   “A Christian home is never defined by what the children are doing; it is defined by what the parents are doing.” […]

Did you know that vitamin D plays an important role in immune function? Yep. And right now boosting your immune system is one of the best things you can do because it’s your body’s key defense when it comes to fighting a virus. Vitamin D is just one of the many ways you can support your immune system. You all, it is so important to do everything you c You all, it is so important to do everything you can to make sure to maintain your health and your family's too this season. My family and I always take proactive steps in the winter. Honestly, the steps we have taken in the past have kept my family healthy and we rarely get sick. This year we are adding some extra things to help support our immune system. I've had several people asked me what I'm doing, so a few of my friends and I are actually going to have a little sharing session this Wednesday night (8:15 EST). We will be sharing all the ways we stay proactive with our health, especially in the winter. We'll have some practical tips, as well as some, must-haves to keep on hand to help your family stay above that wellness line.

It's happening this Wednesday (11/18) at 8:15 pm EST. Let me know if you want in and I will get you the dets.

We will be talking about essential oils, but there are so many other things we do as well. We will have a packet for everyone that comes, so you won't have to worry about your hand cramping from all the notes you'll want to write down!
You all, I can't believe it is November! However, You all, I can't believe it is November! However, I'm so glad it is because I am tired of all the crazy this year and I need to change my attitude! I'm going to be intentional this month and practice gratitude.

Here's the thing, I think you should join me because research studies show that finding a bit of thankfulness each day can actually increase your happiness level and decrease depression!! It also increases physical health (hello cold & flu season), brain function, and a sense of fulfillment. I know, with everything going on in the world right now I could use a little more of ALL of that!

So, who's with me? What are you thankful for today?

🍂Today I am thankful for the colorful fall leaves swirling by my windows. 🍂
I love this reminder from the Lord! Last week was I love this reminder from the Lord!

Last week was our first week back to homeschool. And I think it is safe to say that we all dealt with an array of emotions that week. I had to give myself a timeout the first day!! So, this reminder is perfect as we begin this week

After evaluating how things went I can see that it was my thoughts and attitude that was the ultimate cause of my feelings of frustration and irritation. Things weren’t going the way I had planned.

I mean, let’s be honest this year isn’t really going as any of us have planned. Am I right?

Here’s the thing, we have a choice in how we think, and since our thoughts affect our emotions, we have a choice in how we feel.

But praise the Lord we don’t have to let our circumstances dictate our attitude or the the way we think!

WHO ELSE NEEDS THE SPIRIT TO RENEW THEIR THOUGHTS AND ATTITUDE THIS WEEK?
