Stranded {Review}

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

strandedStranded by Dani Pettrey is the third book in the Alaskan Courage series. The book takes place on an Alaskan cruise ship, the Bering. As in her previous books, Submerged and Shattered,  the story pulls you right in at the beginning when Abby, an investigative reporter is thrown overboard.   The story focuses in on Darcy St. James a character from Shattered, and Gage McKenna.  The two had some sparks in book 2, but Gage’s trust issues, fear of being hurt and lack of faith prevented the spark to flame.  Surprisingly, they both ended up on the Bering for two different reasons.  Darcy to help a long time friend, Abby, with her investigation and Gage to lead Alaskan excursions, while running from his feelings.

Storyline
“On the trail of a missing friend, reporter Darcy St. James is shocked to find Gage McKenna—handsome and unforgettable as ever—on board the cruise ship she’s investigating. She’ll have to enlist Gage’s help when it becomes clear that one disappearance is just the tip of the iceberg.” (Bethany House)

Overall Thoughts
I am a huge fan of Dani Pettrey.  I’ve loved all 3 books in her Alaskan Courage Series.  This book, as in all her others had just the right mixture of suspense, spiritual turmoil and budding romance.  I just absolutely love the way Pettrey brings her characters to life. She includes just the right amount of backstory without deterring from the main plot line.

The two main characters of the book won’t leave you wanting. I was especially touched with Gage’s spiritual battle. His grief over the death of his son is heartbreaking. I so desperately wanted him to find peace with his lost, and run to the only One who could provide it. The story is definitely one that kept me up late, as I didn’t want to put it down. Overall, Stranded is a must read and I’m counting down the days until book #4 comes out!
