This week’s field trip is a given. Most of you either have already done it or are planning on it. If you haven’t figured it out from the title, we headed to a pumpkin patch to pick our very own pumpkin. (We will be bisecting it to learn all about its structures.)
This week we actually have had the privilege of going to two pumpkin patches. Yes, we did! To top it off, we are planning to go a 3rd time with Daddy. Lil’man had so much fun visiting both.
Pumpkin Patches sure have changed since I was a kid. Each place we visited was full of “extras.” The only patch that I brought my camera to had tractors to ride and hay stacks to climb.
There was a silo full of corn sensory tables. This was one of the boy’s favorite. They shoveled it, poured it, transported it and dumped it. They also enjoyed shooting down the tube slide.
Once we finished playing, about a good hour later, we took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately, the pumpkin patch wasn’t as fun as the “extras.” Little feet get easily tangled in the vines, which leads to frustrations and tumbles and eventually cries of “up please.”
We ended the day with a photo op. Aren’t these two kiddos just adorable?
So, even if you aren’t going to purchase pumpkins, make sure you visit a patch just for capturing some great fall pictures.
What cute pictures! Looks like a great time!
I soooo love going to the pumpkin patches! It’s my favorite fall activity! But I do agree with the vines and stuff. My 2-yr. old kept getting tangled up too.
So cute! We love to visit our local pumpkin patch. There is always so much to do!!
How fun! I also saw your other posts with the pumpkin jello and pumpkin books, great idea to pull it all together with a field trip to the pumpkin patch!!
We’re going tomorrow!
I love the pumpkin patch idea, we haven’t got that in spain. You’ve got such a wonderful kids. God bless.
This is such a cute unit! I can’t wait to start it!! Thanks for sharing all the great ideas!:)
