My Favorite Chore Planner

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

Have you ever started a project that lead to another project, which lead to another project? I have! In the end, it would seem like I just made a bigger mess and nothing got done. This would often leave me feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and like a terrible homemaker.  To top it off, making a list was time-consuming in and of itself. Not only did it take forever, but I was forgetting things that I needed to do to maintain my household, like changing the air conditioner filter. Can any of you relate? Sometimes you just need someone to tell you what to do. That’s why I was excited when I discovered Motivated Moms over 6 years ago.

Disclosure: I received this product for free. All opinions expressed are my own and I was not required to post a positive review.

Motivated Moms is a chore planning system to help you have a clean and organized home and still have time for yourself. It is an easy system to help you know what to do each day. Just consult the list, do the work, check it off for the day and enjoy your free time!

Learn More About Motivated Mom Chore Planner

  • The chore planner is available as a printable eBook which comes in several layouts to pick from.  It can be downloaded and then printed.  Perfect for those of you that like to physically cross things off a list!

  • It is also available as an app from iTunes, Google Play, or Amazon. With the apps, you can add unlimited custom tasks and assign tasks to people and rooms, which in turn you can then sort. I LOVE these additional features of the app!

How I Use this Chore Planning System

First, I stick to the plan.  Once I started using this planner I only allowed myself to do what was on the list, which has eliminated a lot of my frustrations. On days I didn’t get something done I’d let it go, knowing that it would show up again. With the list already created for me, I no longer worry if I am missing something and I feel good about accomplishing just the few chores I have to complete each day.

Second, I assign tasks to family members. As you can see from my picture below, each week I go through and assign different chores by color-coding.  Each member of the family has their own color. I love that we all work together to complete the week’s chores and that there are several tasks that are perfect for my preschooler.

The Bottom Line

I can’t say enough about this chore planner.  Overall, this is a great system to help you stay on top of your household chores and still have free time in your day! I highly recommend it!

I’m not sure there is a specific chore that I detest but the remembering them before someone mentions it and I feel like a horrible housekeeper.

Honestly, I think that doing the laundry and everything that the job entails is the absolute worst chore in the house. I don’t mind cleaning my bathroom because it is just the two of us using it, but the boys bathroom is another story. That one is the punishment chore when the boys are extremely naughty. 🙂

My least favorite chore is cleaning the bathrooms unless you count decluttering as a chore. I am a pack rat! I really need help in the cleaning department. I have been slacking and my hubby wants me to create a schedule so this might help if I won it.

Sweeping and mopping — with 5 littlies under the age of 6, it is a constant chore! I’m envious of your steam mop! Maybe I should ask for that for Christmas…
