Must Reads- Pumpkin Theme

This week we are exploring pumpkins, another Fall favorite! Below are a couple of the popular choices in our house, so far:
Buy on Amazon. It’s Pumpkin Time!Affilation Link. This is a must read for our pumpkin theme week.  This story is about two children who plant pumpkin seeds to prepare for Halloween.  The story takes you through what you need to do to grow pumpkins and the different stages of  its life cycle starting with the seed.  I love the illustrations. At the back of the book the illustrator provides pictures of what happens to the seed under ground as it germinates. (Side Note: If you’re not into Halloween, don’t worry this book only touches on it in the last couple pages. You can easily omit them.)

In Search of the Perfect PumpkinAffilation Link. My son loves this book.  When I first opened it, I thought…”Oh, this isn’t going to keep his attention.  It is too long.”  Boy, was I ever wrong.  Unfortunately, I can’t pin point what he loves about this book.  It could be the colorful pictures, the adventure the Pucci family goes on to find the perfect pumpkin or the way my husband reads it with the various voices.  All I know is he loves this book.  He loves it so much we are tired of reading it to him.  Another fun thing this book offers is pumpkin facts on every page.  Definitely a fun book for the autumn season.

Here are a few more suggestions:

What are your favorite pumpkin books?

Oooo, reading with voices is so much fun. My older daughter loves it. I remember reading one book to her that had Italian, French, and German accents all in one book. LOL That was crazy.

Two of our favorites are Pumpkin, Pumpkin and The Pumpkin Parable.
