At the beginning of the year it is always good to do a little pre-assessing to see what you kiddo knows. So, I created these Letter Recognition Assessments last year. You can use these assessments to determine which letters your child knows or is struggling to recognize. Capital and lowercase assessments are included. Grab them below.
Here are other ways a couple of followers use them:
- Following directions activity… Provide them with a few colors and give directions like “color the P blue.” (Jessica Baker) ~ Do A Dot Art Markers are perfect tool for this!
- Have capital/lowercase letter cards and they must identify the match on the sheet. (Heidi Cece Leandro) ~ Use a variety of tokens to make it more fun, such as bingo chips, M&Ms, Pom-poms, etc.
- Write the letters on water bottle caps and have students use tweezers to place the caps on the worksheet. (Michelle)
How will you use them? Share in the comments.
