Goal!

One of our extra-curricular activities this year, and pretty much every year, is soccer.  My husband was a soccer player and as soon as he could our eldest was playing in a league.  So, basically Lil’man has been playing since he was 3.

In his 3 year old league, he got his very first goal ever…of course there weren’t any goalies at this age.

Then he went through a dry spell. The next couple years of soccer, Lil’man would chase the ball down field, but didn’t really get into the action. He would often allow others to have the ball or would stop kicking the ball if another player got close to him.  This year however, he’s starting to change.  He is getting right in the middle of it.  He isn’t afraid to get kicked in the shins.  He is evening sticking with the ball and following through.   So needless to say, this past weekend he made his first goal ever against a goalie.  We were so proud of him, because he stuck with it and he was rewarded.

“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”
NIV- 2 Chronicles 15:7

Praying he continues to persevere not only on the sports field, but in all areas of his life.
