Genesis 1:1 Scripture Pack {Free Printables}

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

Over the past few years our son has been working on weekly memory verses from various places. He gets them from church, from his soccer team, from our homeschool curriculum, and other places. To help our son memorize the verses we’ve created some coloring pages and worksheets. I thought you might be able to put these to good use with your kiddos.

This week I’m sharing – Genesis 1:1.  Our family has chosen to use the ESV as our family bible translation, so all the scripture packs will be in ESV. If you’re looking for a different translation, swing by Homeschool Creations.

Genesis 1_1 Pin

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
– Genesis 1:1 ESV

Genesis 1:1 Talking Points

In the beginning there was only God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Then God spoke and there was light. He spoke again and made land and plants, animals and birds, man and woman. God even created days and weeks, seasons and years. God created everything and everything exists for His glory. We can trust God because God made us and loves us.

Memory Verse Work Break Down

We focus on one verse each week, therefore I stretch out the printables to last the whole week.  Here’s how I spread it out:

  • Monday- Memory Verse Word Match
  • Tuesday- Draw & Trace the Verse
  • Wednesday- Memory Verse Coloring Page
  • Thursday- Memory Verse Copywork
  • Friday- Memory Verse Jumble

I hope this scripture pack is an useful tool to help your elementary student hide God’s word in their heart.  If you’re looking for memory verses & devotions for your preschooler make sure and check out my topical devotions.  I have memory helps that go along with almost all of my preschool packs.

What’s your child’s favorite thing God created?
