Family Night-Gingerbread Houses

Tonight was by far one of my favorite family nights!  We made Gingerbread Houses, and out finished product was too cute!

We got a lot of winter-y weather this past weekend, so it was a nice night to just stay inside and have some family time.  We got a Gingerbread House Kit, because making it all from scratch would have been just a tad bit too time consuming. :)  This kit came from the grocery store and normally runs around $10.   Everything is included, including the icing and LOTS of candy for decorating.

It’s really a kid friendly kit, and E had a great time decorating things.  We put the icing on and she added the candy.  Well, she added the candy that she didn’t eat!

We put on one of our favorite Christmas CD’s, Chris Rice’s The Living Room Sessions-Christmas.  Its JUST piano music, but piano music played very well.  Its just classic, and we love it.

The evening was so ideal.  Cold winter night with the wind howling outside, and we were warm and snuggly making Gingerbread houses to Christmas music!  I won’t ever forget it!

I hope that your family night is just as memorable!

We got a similar kit but ours is a train since Xander loves trains! We haven’t made it yet, he’s been sick with the sniffles and a fever and is just miserable. Your gingerbread house is lovely.
