Day 4- Praying Hands

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

You’ll use this lesson 9 days before Easter. You’ll be using the forth resurrection egg, which is orange (color may vary) and will have praying hands on the inside.

Before you do the lesson we recommend that you read a short segment about the Garden of Gethsemane. We will be using The Beginner’s BibleAffilated link. (pg. 447), The Jesus Storybook BibleAffilated link. or Read and Share: The Ultimate DVD Bible – Volume 2 (pg. 176-177).Affilated link.

Talk with your child about the story:
In our story today we learned that after the special dinner, Jesus went with his friends (disciples) to the garden to pray.  When we pray we are talking to God. So, Jesus went to talk to God. Let’s open up our egg to find out what is inside.  What are these? (Hands) You’re right. These are praying hands to remind us that Jesus prayed. Jesus wanted to ask for God’s help because he was afraid and sad. Jesus knew that he was going to have to die to save others.  God helped Jesus to be strong.

Have you ever been scared or sad? Who do ask for help when you feel that way?  Did you know that you can also pray to God just like Jesus?  God can help you be strong too.
