Cookson Hills 2014

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

I want to thank everyone who prayed for me and my other group members during our mission trip to Cookson Hills Christian Ministries. It was a successful trip.  We had so much fun interacting and worshiping with the families* there.

This was our second year sponsoring and leading their Spiritual Emphasis Week.  We actually have two groups that go.  One, which I was apart of, lead the sessions for the elementary and younger age group.  While the other group focused on the middle school to adults.  However, unlike last year our two groups helped out in all areas.  For example, I shared my testimony with the older kids…more on that later.

This year the elementary folks focused on trusting God.  We had singing, bible lessons, skits and small groups.  We also had the privilege of teaching the kids during the bible study classes.  The other group did a study on Gods at War by Kyle Idleman. (Highly recommend all of his books.)

Our final day we put on a KidWay production for everyone.  Then we were invited to a cookout.  You can check out pictures from the cookout on Cookson Hills Facebook Page.

All in all it was a privilege to be able to visit Cookson Hills again.  This ministry is dear to my heart.  I am amazed by not only those who give up all they have to provide a second chance for the youth, but for the strength of the kids who attend.
