The 12 Days of Easter

This post may contain affiliate or advertiser links. Read my full disclosure policy .

Last year we posted about the 12 Days of Easter.  We used our Resurrection Eggs and made 12 lessons to correspond with each of the eggs to help teach our kiddos about the meaning of Easter.

We thought it might be nice to get the 12 Days of Easter unit in your hands early so if you want to go through it with your kids, you will have it to plan.

12 Days of Easter

We went ahead and put it all in a single download!  Here is what you’ll find in this download:

  • 12 Days of Easter Plans-You can print them off front and back to save paper, that is why they are in the order they are!   Print them off and cut the pages in half and you will have a handy guide for your lessons!
  • Printable activities for each day
  • Activity Suggestions
  • A page of helpful links for some of the activities

We hope that having this in one download will help you all out!

Wondering if this series is for you?  Check out this post to help you with your decision!

Don’t have Resurrection Eggs?

  • You can buy them on Amazon.  You can also download these Printable Resurrection Eggs (scroll to the bottom) for a filefolder activity
  • If you are in need of a good Children’s Bible for this series, here are the ones that we recommend and use. (Note: You will need Vol 1 & 2 of the Read and Share Bible)

    Hi Ladies,
I am having a hard time getting the link to open up.  It keeps giving me an error message saying the file is corrupt!!  Have you heard this from anyone else?  Any suggestions?  Thanks so much for all you share!!!

Thank you so much.  I don’t have anything against bunnies and chicks, but it is nice to have found something that I can do with my little ones about the real meaning of Easter.  Yes, we do the fun stuff, too, but I was having a hard time finding printables and activities with a more religious emphasis.

Hi!  Can I ask what browser you’re using?  We have gotten a few friends
and family download it  and they haven’t had the same error.  We have
downloaded it in Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. We haven’t tried Safari
for Mac yet, but we are checking on that!  Until then, you might try
clearing your cache, disabling your pop up blocker for this site, and
make sure you unzip the file.  We aren’t incredibly tech savvy, but I
    hope that this helps some!

Kim-  The boy and girl page is explained in the lesson they came with, Cleansed by the Blood.  As for the resurrection garden and rolls those ideas come from other bloggers and links are included in the Additional Resource page that was in the download.  Hope this helps.

Nicole-  We aren’t having the issue on our end, so we aren’t sure what might be causing it.  Have you tried using another browser to download it?  A couple other things you can try are: clearing your cache and/or making sure you allow pop-up windows.  Hope this helps.  Let us know if you still aren’t able to get it downloaded.

When do you start the 12 Days of Easter Unit?  I know the 12 Days of Christmas is celebrated by starting day one on Christmas Day and lasting until the Ephiphany.  Does the same theory apply so that day one of the Easter Unit begins Easter Sunday?

No, you’ll want to start this at least 12 days before Easter Sunday.  Then you’ll last egg will fall on Easter Sunday or sooner if you rather do it earlier.  Also, you may want to read through it first because last year we combined some of the days together because we thought it was best for our kiddos, who were 3 at the time. (You can read about why here: https://www.2teachingmommies.com/2011/04/some-clarity-on-resurrection-eggs.html)

Holly I’m so sorry you’re having difficulty downloading it.  We aren’t sure why some people are having difficulty, but it doesn’t seem to be on our end.  You can try some of the suggestions listed below.

Is it possible to also post it in unzipped format? My hubby even tried downloading it on his computer and it wouldn’t work. Not sure if it’s related to the fact that the file is zipped.

Due to the size of the files we can’t post the unzipped version.  I will tell you that my husband has been working on diagnosing the problem and it looks to be something with the Explorer browser corrupting the files.  From what he can see it doesn’t look like Explorer is downloading the full file, which is why its missing pieces and therefore why its “corrupted”. He is trying to nail down a fix, but you might try opening it in another browser (like Firefox, or Google Chrome) and seeing if that helps!

Bummer, I can’t open it in IE either.  I’ve been able to download other zipped themes but with the Easter unit it’s telling me the files are corrupt. ??

Thank you for including the link for the zip downloader!  I have been looking at your units longingly for awhile and missed that link before : )  My daughter is excited about Easter so I am about to fire up my printer so she has something to do other than hide her plastic eggs all over the place.

I just wanted to let you all know that you did an excellent job with this lesson. I wanted to find a way to teach my Kinders the true meaning of easter. This is perfect for them. Thank you for allowing me to teach my little ones at an early age, the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is truly a blessing. I can’t wait to begin.
